Meet Our Teachers

Anne Vaaler – Voice 

Anne has over 35 years of both vocal and choral Teaching/performing experience, and has taught students from infant through retirement age.  She believes that the joy of singing belongs to everyone, regardless of skill or purpose. Anne earned her BA in Music/Vocal Performance from Luther College in Iowa, and   then studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and San Francisco State University, where she earned her CA teaching credential in music.

Gabriel Bingham – Guitar, Ukulele, Banjo

Gabriel has been teaching lessons for the past 8 years in the Grass Valley area.  He is also currently in the band Caltucky and performs weekly at different venue’s and festivals. He is also a talented vocalist. Gabriel is also one of the owners of Miners Harmony Music. 

Jackie Galloway – Piano

Jason Wilkins – Upright bass & Electric bass

Jason has been performing on bass for over 35 years.   He is an upright bass, electric bass, and a washtub instructor. He has a Bachelors degree in upright Contrabass from the University of California Irvine and has studied with Dr. Art Davis, Patrick “putter” Smith, and Darek Oles.   He has also performed with several Jazz groups, rock groups, as well as Symphonic Orchestras.  He likes to teach and perform all styles of music from Bach-Rock.  Jason has taught music in the past at Gilmore Music, Coast Music, The Star Factory, and Excelsior Music as taught in public schools in Anaheim, CA.

Jim Shallow – Guitar, Vocals, Harmonica

Jim has played and performed music for many years, in many places, for many people. He is available to teach beginning to advanced guitar, vocals, & blues harmonica.  He is a very seasoned & passionate musician and would love to help you in your musical journey. 

Zach Traynor – Guitar, Bass, & Ukulele

 Zach has many years of experience playing Guitar!  He enjoys teaching lessons along side running the music shop as one of the owners of Miners Harmony Music.   He is also the shop Luthier and preforms most of the instrument repairs that are done on site.  He lives locally, is married and has a young son.     

Kit Bailey – Drums 

Kit began drumming at age 11, first playing by ear and then learning to read (and write) the rhythms of folk music, blues, rock, jazz, funk, classical, Celtic, Latin American, and African styles. He performs in several bands in the area and loves to share what he’s learned in several decades of playing and teaching rhythms and techniques. Whether you are simply out to have fun, or want a career playing music professionally, Kit can help you develop your innate talent.
